Custom Component Delivery Mechanism

AppMetrics can take action when a metric’s threshold is exceeded. The ‘Custom Component’ Delivery Mechanism option under the Notifications node in the Production monitor can be configured to call your COM component to take corrective action.

You can download a sample custom component that illustrates the use of this feature. This sample is implemented using Windows Script Host, though you can implement a custom component using other languages. When AppMetrics detects a ‘hung component’ instance in your COM+ application, the custom component looks at the parameters of the alert, and uses the information to shut down the COM+ Application that contains that hung component instance.
